A non-governmental organization MEDIA WATCH
INTERNATIONAL, has cautioned journalists to always stick to the ethics of the
profession in the discharge of their duty. Media watch in a statement said that
journalism is a noble profession; as such practitioners should be guided by objectivity
and not slander in their reports.
Leader of the group Maxwell Ogama while reacting to
the arrest of Ebere Wabara said that Journalists who in the course of their
duty defames any body should be ready to face the music.
He said that any one who feels that any journalist has
maligned him could sue the person. He therefore urged media men not to be used
by desperate politicians now that elections are approaching. He reminded them
to be steadfast and committed to building Nigeria.
