Political war in Imo State as the Speaker condemns Governor Rochas leadership style.

Things have fallen apart, that seems to be the situation in Imo State as the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon Ben Uwajimogu is at war with the State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. The SoutheastNewsonline learnt  that the Governor is planning to impeach Hon. Uwajimogu who it was gathered is planning to join the PDP. The speaker is not happy with Okorocha whom he accused of running the State as his private estate. The speaker alleged that Okorocha style of governance is crude as he has no recourse to laid down procedures.

 For the first time,  the speaker admitted that Imo is owing a lot of banks several billions as the governor is doing nothing with the funds instead he is awarding major contracts to himself through ROCHE GROUPS and his inlaw who is a serving commissioner. Speaking further the speaker stated that most contractors in the state are being owed while the governor is busy chasing shadows.

The Speaker also accused Governor Rochas of lying to the whole world and before Imolites that IMO State is the richest in the federation. A claim Rochas made during the IMO Freedom Day event in Owerri in  recently.

The Speaker who said that he will go the whole hog to expose Rochas said that the governor bribed some members of the House to impeach his former deputy.

According to Uwajimogu the former deputy governor did not embezzle any money as confirmed by EFCC after their investigation of the case. Meanwhile the speaker has urged Imo people to remain calm as the House of Assembly will soon do what is expected of them.

The speaker also claimed that the allegation of corruption against him is false declared that governor Okorocha is a symbol of corruption and fraud. He stated that that governor is using Rochas foundation to steal imo blind. Okorocha has come to rescue his pocket and not imo, no wonder he is grabbing everything at sight. When contacted the SSA to the governor on media declined to speak on the issue.

Rochas Okorocha described as a very insensitive Governor.

Abia state government has accused Governor Rochas Okorocha of being insensitive to the plight of his citizens especially Imo workers disengaged from Abia state civil service.
Reacting to a statement credited to Governor Okorocha on May Day in which he was said to be apologizing on behalf of Imo workers sacked by Abia state government and yet to be re-engaged, the Chief press secretary to Abia state Governor, Mr. Charles Ajunwa said the Abia state Government has so far re-engaged a total number of 2,133 disengaged workers back into its civil service majority of whom are from Imo state.
Addressing newsmen on the matter at the Government house, Umuahia, the Chief press secretary said the statement by Governor Okorocha is unfair on Governor Orji and Abia state government, adding that it was wrong for the Imo state Governor to use the occasion of May Day to castigate his Abia state counterpart.
According to him, such a statement from Governor Okorocha is devilish and satanic, pointing out that the Imo Governor,s apology to workers is senseless and unfair.
He said the Abia state government does not delight in telling lies to the public or playing to the gallery, maintaining that the Abia state government has a human face while the state Governor has shown love and compassion to his citizens.
The Chief press Secretary explained that although Abia indigenes were the first to be disengaged by neighbouring states, the Abia state government was able to quickly reabsorb them without fuss and added that Governor Orji wrote to his colleagues in the South East before the decision to disengage non Abia workers in her employ wherein he explained the reason for his action.
Mr. Ajunwa stated that with an increase in its Internally Generated Revenue profile, the Abia state government rescinded its earlier decision and is striving to reabsorb all those affected by that decision.
He challenged Governor Okorocha to be man enough to reabsorb his subjects yet to be re-engaged by the Abia state government just like Governor Orji did to Abia indigenes when they were sacked rather than playing to the gallery.
