Mass resignation has hit the new telegraph Newspaper owned by former governor of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu.

Some staff that resigned are mainly line editors and senior reporters. Their grouse is the imposition of a pay cut by kalu one month after the paper was established.
One of the editors revealed that kalu who is yet to pay their one month salary had threatened few weeks ago that he was cutting their pay and anybody not ready to accept the pay cut should resign. Kalu our source said borrowed huge amount to establish the paper.
The editors whose salaries were cut from 150,000 to 50,000 could not bear it as they resigned enmasse over the weekend. One of them a former staff of Punch described kalu as an embodiment of deceit, a con man and a chameleon. He said that the ex Abia governor is a desperate man who is ready to do anything. He cursed kalu for pulling most of them out from their former papers only for him to mess them up.
He cautioned those who want to take up their positions to beware as kalu is said to be running from one serving governor to another seeking for help. Our source hinted that kalu has become a regular face in akwa ibom just to see if he could raise fund there but to no avail since those in power there are not comfortable with his antics. Most of the staff still working for the Telegraph are just hopeless and confused, as future salaries are not guaranteed. Our investigations also revealed that kalu is also owing staff of Sun newspapers 4 months salaries after sacking some top editors.
