In his reaction the President Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) ,Abia State chapter, Bishop Goddy Okafor of Peculiar Peoples Church, said " the sect  cannot be successful in Abia state ", arguing that Abia is God's own state.

Bishop Okafor said, "Abia and the entire South East is a no go area for Boko Haram sect as God is ever ready to protect his people at all times, we know about their wicked plot but we cannot take it laying down, the sect is like the devil whose mission is to kill and destroy but they cannot succeed in South East".
